Truth is; You can’t keep playing victim

And with good reasons, you do have to own up to some shit.

After seeing the Netflix series ‘Inventing Anna’, I kept thinking to myself; How do we get so lucky but yet chased down by every possible karma life throws at us? It’s not fair to get into a situation unplanned, unprepared and unguarded only to be portrayed a villain in your own story. It was a different case for Anna though, you’d have to watch the whole series to get a grip of this article. Or not.

You see, you don’t come into this world prepared; none of us do. And it’s just another bitter impression on some of us living the said life of many of our unique yet undiscovered dreams. Our crazy ideas that will one day change the world could as well sink at the depths of bikini bottom and never make it back to the sands of time.

I think we’re just actors playing different roles and none of these situations are real, because I do wonder; Why shall this pass? If it’s a good thing and it’s worth preserving, why should it abide the law of cause and effect? Don’t know if that makes sense, but life isn’t always giving the good stuff no matter how hard you might work for it. It’s a shitty contract, and I don’t remember signing up for all the hardship that comes with it.

The truth is; you can’t keep playing the victim. One day, you will grow old, piss your diapers and forget that the letter ’N’ comes after ‘M’, and then just before you get to the good part, you die. Can you believe that? You, and I, are actually going to die some day. At least you get to read this article and extend your living essentials for another 10 years of a not-so miserable existence — if you choose to.

If life throws you — say uhh, tomatoes, you get all the quality spices and ingredients and make one hell of a stew out of it. Forget lemons and lemonade, that album is old out. Right here, right now, you have to get up and decide what it is you want to achieve. What you really want, and you’ve gotta be fierce about it.

When something bad or something so ridiculously beyond imagination happens to you, you don’t let it swallow you whole. You save your tears or overwhelm for the dead of the night, and you wake up to a new sunshine in the morning and you start again. And you move.

It’s my birth month, my February salary hasn’t been paid, and I’m just sitting on my work desk resenting all the good-good things I’ve done to people. Especially the ones who were felt entitled towards my niceties.

In the end, this article was just another one of those angry thoughts that needed to be penned down. I hope it was worth your read.
